Adu Baah Charles Appoints Michael Gyan,Outgoing Vice President Of The Law Students’ Union As The New KNUST SRC JC

Michael Gyan, a young man with vision and great potential has made a mark in his academics, and has chalked many successes in student leadership. He is currently pursing Bachelor of Laws in KNUST. He believes the sky is not the limit and aspire for greater heights. He is a student with tenacity of purpose, discipline, very sociable and believes that equity is the best way to serve society.

From a humble and noble home, Michael Gyan is the youngest among his siblings. Paradoxically being the youngest sibling Michael Gyan could have been over pampered by his parents as most children have. He never rest on his oars and has been striving for the best. This has made him won the admiration of lecturers, students and most people in his community.

He started his education at the Lord of Peace International School, Tantra Hills, Accra. There he occupied the position of Assistant Senior Boys’ Prefect and Leader of the Writers and Debaters Club.


In his days in senior high school, he served as the Assistant Boys’ Prefect and President of the Debater’s Club where he led a formidable frontier to win most debates competitions in his school against other challengers.


Coupled with this, he was chosen amongst the few to participate in the Independence Day Debate Competition amongst Senior High Schools. He was awarded a Certificate of Excellence.
Michael Gyan distinguished himself in the maiden edition of the UBA National Essay Competition being among the best finalists.

Michael Gyan is the Outgoing Vice President of the Law Students’ Union, KNUST and the Outgoing P.R.O of Amnesty International, KNUST. Hitherto, he served on the judicial committee of the LSU (2017/2018).

His unbridled desire to be an astute lawyer led him to be selected as member of the research team that won the national rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law MootCourt Competition (2018)

Gyan was selected to participate in the Legal Ethics Training Programme at GIMPA meant to train Lawyers and law students on ethics that engulfs the legal fraternity to curb the future of the recent prevalence in Bribery and Corruption regarding the practice of law and justice delivery especially in Ghana(Accra, 2017), organized by White and Case LLP in collaboration with Fordham Law School, United States of America from 18th – 21st July, 2017.

Gyan again got the privilege to be selected as a delegate from KNUST to participate in the discourse on Africa’s perspective on the International Criminal Justice, from 10th -11th August, 2017 by the African Centre for International Criminal Justice.

He is a candidate to intern at the African Centre for International Criminal Justice.
Michael is a third year student who believes that the Law is a friend to all.
