2022/2023 Admissions requirement for Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Ghana, Legon (UG) ;
Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy is a four-year program that produces client-centred health professionals who are concerned with promoting health and well-being, with the primary aim of engaging individuals and population in occupation to grease participation in culturally meaningful activities and tasks and address physical, developmental, social, or emotional problems.
The program culminates in a one-year training program that allows students to work hand in hand with guests of all periods, to increase the latter’s independence, enhance development, and/ or prevent disability through their involvement in activities that are therapeutically designed to promote occupational performance.
They also work with different communities and associations to enable a just and inclusive society for all, to grease the consummation of one’s potential in leading an independent, productive, and satisfying life.
Minimum/General Entry Requirements for Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy:
GHANA WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants
Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies
Electives: Credit passes in Chemistry, Physics and either Biology or Elective Mathematics
WASSCE/SSSCE RESULTS FROM THE WEST AFRICAN SUB-REGION
Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics and a Science subject
Electives: Credit passes in Three (3) Electives comprising Chemistry, Physics and either Biology or Further Mathematics
American High School Grade 12
For International Applicants and Ghanaians with Foreign Background)
An applicant for admission to a degree programme in the University of Ghana must have a Final Grade Point of at least 3.0
GCE (Cambridge) – ‘A’ Levels
Applicants must have three relevant subjects at the Cambridge ‘A’ Levels.
In addition, they must have at least five (5) passes including English and Mathematics at the Cambridge ‘O’ Level.
Three (3) ‘A’ Level subjects comprising Chemistry, Physics and either Biology or Mathematics
International Baccalaureate (IB)
The University of Ghana welcomes applications from students who follow the IB Diploma Programme and meet the following College requirements. Admissions will be to Level 100.
Applicants must have at least Grade 5 in Chemistry, and either Biology or Physics at the Higher Level.
In addition, applicants must have at least grade 4 in English Language/Literature (SL) and Mathematics SL and at least grade C for the third science at the IGCSE or equivalent.
