BREAKING NEWS : Prof. Agyare Loses as Prof. Ellis Owusu wins KNUST Pro Vice Chancellor.

Prof. Ellis Owusu Dabo of the School of Public Health of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has stood tall among his competitors  in the PRO- Vice Chancellor elections which was held on Wednesday, 23rd September, 2020.

The just ended election was held to elect a successor of the outgoing  acting PRO- Vice chancellor , Prof. Mark Adom- Asamoah.

The three persons that were competing for the position were; Prof. Ellis Owusu Dabo who happens to be the Dean of School of Public Health, Prof. Sir Eugenia Amporfo who happens to be the Dean of Faculty of social sciences and Prof. Wilson Agyei Agyare who is also the Dean of students.

KNUST Admission: 2020/2021 Provisional Admission List For Less Endowed Applicants

Professor Ellis Owusu Dabo led the polls with 464 votes representing 48.48%, Prof. Wilson Agyei Agyare emerged as the second in the race with 392 representing 40.96% while Prof. Sir Eugenia Amporfo had 93 votes representing 9.72.

Out of the total ballot cast of 957, 8 were recorded as invalid representing 0.84%.

KNUST Students To Demonstrate Over Exorbitant Hostel Prices

According to reports gathered by hypeghnewsroom.com on the rules governing the election of pro-vice-chancellor, the names of the first two persons in the race, Prof. Ellis Owusu Dabo and Prof. Wilson Agyei Agyare will be presented to the university council and one person will be selected.

Considering grounds and all things be equal, Prof Ellis Owush stands a higher chance of being selected also by the University council.
