KEVIN ABBAN DONATES TO THE KNUST FOOD BANK
Since the Strike of COVID-19 Pandemic, there has been an economic global fire outbreak which has stretched out from one country to another. Our country and homes have not been spared.
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in their 24th April 2020 policy brief indicated that, “Avoiding hunger must be at the centre of the economic stimulus” since the International Monetary Fund (IMF) indicated that. ” Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is expected to have a significant adverse impact on the global economy”
This has affected all sectors in the country and all levels of the income chain. This drives the concern of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Vice President Mr. KEVIN ABBAN to ask, what about the people in our communities and campuses who have been hardly hit by the economic impact of COVID-19?

KEVIN ABBAN and his friends therefore donated to the KNUST FOOD BANK on the day of love in other to boost the capacity of the relief program to support many students, especially first years who do not know much about the initiative which was implemented last year by Ms. Sandra Esinam Sosu-Dees to help address the needs of students who cannot afford certain basic needs.
He and his friends believe that the FOOD BANK will need more support in these times to help address the increased number of students and persons who will turn to the food bank for help, as such necessitated this donation. In an interview with the press men gathered, he stated that he will do everything possible to raise more donations for the FOOD BANK to supplement the already existing plan.
He concluded by saying, “We have to do more for our fellow brothers and sisters and as such my friends and I will be rolling out a special challenge #KNUSTFoodBankChallenge to get more people and cooperate bodies to donate to the FOOD BANK, as well as educate freshmen on how to access the FOOD BANK”.
