KNUST: Proposed Date For Resumption Of School Released [Checkout]


Hypeghnewsroom, today,chanced on a letter showing a proposed calendar of the remaining activities of the 19/20 academic year and also a subsequent information spelling out activities for the 20/21 academic year.

In the letter, school activities are expected to continue with the investiture of the newly appointed Vice- chancellor, which took place last Saturday, July 25. It then continues to the submission of second semester results to the academic board Secretary by the various Colleges academic board.

It seems this year’s graduation will be done virtually due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. It is proposed to take place from September 11 to September 12 this year.

Supplementary examinations, according to the calendar, will take place from October 14 to October 16.

Continuing students are expected to report for the resumption of the 20/21 academic year on Saturday, October 21 with lectures expected to begin soon after resumption i.e November 2,2020.

Academic life will be wrapped up for the year on 23 December, 2020 for students to break for the Christmas. Students are expected to return on January 4, to continue first semester.

Freshers, i.e newly admitted students will join on 8th February, 2021 which is subject to change. First semester will end on March 12,2021 with final paper of first semester examination.

Students will report on March 27,2021 for the second semester which will eventually end on July 17.

Background: All educational institutions were ordered to close down effective March 16,2020 due to the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus. Students have since been home for close to 5 months with all academic activities done virtually.
