KNUST SRC Elections: E- Voting Is A Possible Means Of Conducting the Election- KNUST SRC Deputy PRO – In an interview with the Deputy SRC PRO, Mr Anokye, he disclosed that discussions are still on- going pertaining the impending KNUST SRC elections which has been postponed indefinitely due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus that led to the closure of schools. He added there are options been deliberated on as means of conducting the election. These include: E- voting, voting by delegates and voting when school resumes.
Hypeghnewsroom.com enquired to know whether out – going students i.e final years would be part of the voting since they would have been part if school was in session, Mr Anokye confirmed they will be part if the election comes off before 30th June. He added it’s possible they will be excluded if the election comes off after 30th June because by then, they don’t qualify to be students, thus, won’t be eligible to vote.
Background: The 2020 SRC elections was slated to come off on the 26th of March, 2020 but was postponed indefinitely just 10 days to the D- day due a Presidential order to close down all educational institutions effective 16th March,2020, amid the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus.
