For the past years, Krobo Girls’ Presbyterian Senior High School in collaboration with CHASS and officials of other schools organize a mock session of the National Science and Math Quiz to prepare students for the actual activity which will be taking place this year from June 11 to July 11 at the University of Legon, Ghana.

Each year there is a modification in the organization of the Eastern Regional Championship and this year, in addition to invited non-Eastern Regional Schools, the reigning National Champions from 2018, St Peter’s Senior High School as well as the reigning Eastern Regional Champions from last year, Pope John SHS and Minor Seminary were also present.

In all, there were 27 schools present, including Ola SHS, Mfantsipim School, Presbyterian Boys SHS, Legon not forgetting the host school, Krobo Girls’ Presbyterian SHS. [irp posts=”1609″ name=”Gov’t to provide every citizen with a smartphone by 2020 – Minister reveals”]

On Thursday, June 6, 2019, all schools present contested against each other, with each school having either two or three contests depending on the balloting results. On Friday, June 7, 2019, took place the qualifiers into the semi-finals, the semifinal contests, and the final contest.

The schools that were able to make it to the finals were Oti Boateng SHS, Presbyterian Boys SHS, and Koforidua Senior High Technical School.

At the end of the final contest, Oti Boateng SHS took the third place with 19 points, Presec Boys-Legon was second with 20 points and Koforidua SHTS won the 2019 Eastern Regional Competition with 35 points.[irp posts=”2494″ name=”Ministry of Education denies reports of issuing diplomas to JHS graduates”]

Amidst all the celebrations and weeping, students are advised not to be complacent or give up as they prepare for the National competition.
