Lawyer Sulley Sambian has rubbished claims that the parliamentary primaries of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) on April 25, kick starts the party’s divisions that will automatically feed into the December 7 polls and cause its defeat.
He stated unequivocally that the NPP as a consummate democratic party puts the past behind once internal contests are over.
The NPP executive is optimistic that various factions will come together in order to make the party a formidable force to reckon with ahead of the 2020 polls.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with MyNewsGh.com after announcing the list of qualified aspirants for contesting as parliamentary candidates in the North East Region where he is the Regional Secretary, he stated that the overall vision of the party is paramount.
“We are one family and one blood. This contest is an in house matter and after the primaries, we will close ranks and deal with the bigger enemy in order to win the December 7, 2020 polls. We cannot afford to lose the 2020 primaries because Ghanaians have a lot of confidence in us to deliver”, he said reminding all about the party’s new slogan ‘4More4Nana.
It would be recalled that fourteen parliamentary aspirants in the North-East Region were vetted on the 1st March 2020 by the National Parliamentary Vetting Committee, pursuant to the party’s rules and regulations for the conduct of its parliamentary primaries is by this notice,
All the 14 aspiring candidates, comprising three females and 11 males, have all been cleared to contest by the National Executive Committee.
National Parliamentary Vetting Committee has therefore expressed its gratitude to all regional and Constituency Officers, the aspirants and their supporters, for the decorum exhibited during the entire exercise.
