UEW-Kumasi to be Changed to University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development

 

Government has begun converting the Kumasi campus of an Education University of Winneba into University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development

The University is governed by practical skills teachers.

The mission of the University is to train professors in realistic and business skills.

The bill to promote the dialogue was adopted by the Parliament in its second reading on Friday.

Professor Kwasi Yankah, Minister of State for Tertiary Education says the conversion would enable teachers to be equipped with the required skills.

The discussion will concentrate on the importance and need to achieve national development of technical and professional education for domestic growth.

The university proposed would grow to the grade for PhDs in technical and vocational education which will give the necessary skills to the workforce. It will, of course, increase efficiency, encourage investment, increase employment and boost the country’s socio-economic sector, “he added.
